With
hearts waiting for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, Bishops, Pastors,
government officials led by the Secretary, Lagos State Chapter of CAN and
Archbishop George Irivbemi Amu, on July 7th 2013 thronged Manna Prayer Mountain
Interdenominational Headquarters in Ojota area of Lagos, for the consecration of
Rev Dr Chris Kwakpovwe as a Bishop. The colourful ceremony which began at about
8.00 a.m. had several Bishops, Pastors
from far and near in attendance. More
than 3,500 worshippers witnessed the
consecration of the Publisher of Our Daily Manna(ODM), while many watched the
event live streaming video. Speaking on the message, ‘The mystery of
life’’ Archbishop Amu encourage the
congregation to always look on to Jesus the Author and Finisher of their faith.
Reading from Psalm 103 vs 1-5, he said ,
“Challenges and problems will always come in life but as Christians, we should
see them only as impetus to move ahead in faith. The word ‘I can’t’ are the
words of foo. As Christians, we should avoid the use of such words, because
greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world.”

Bishop
Amu, who said he had known Rev Dr. Chris for many years, paid glowing tribute
to the reverend, stressing that the consecration marked the beginning of a new
phase of his ministry. He described Rev
Chris as a man of prayer, vision, pastoral heart and strategic mind. He is a
man of the Gospel, with love for the
lost and love for the church. He is a
preacher and a teacher of the word of God. Most of all he knows and loves Jesus
Christ and moves in the power of His spirit. ”Continuing, he urged Bishop
Kwakpovwe to see to the spiritual and physical development of the entire body
of Christ, adding that when God heals the head of a church, the members will be
healed completely. After the message, a citation of the new bishop was read
before proceeding to the consecration proper which was handled by the college
of bishops headed by Archbishop Amu. He was consecrated as an
Inter-denominational Bishop to the admiration of the large crowd of worshippers
and the shout that greeted that gesture was thunderous. Speaking after his
consecration, the publisher of Our Daily Manna (ODM) said his elevation to the
rank Bishop is a divine call to work among Bishops and purge the system.

”Regardless of our denominations, positions,
hopefully we can stand together and take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the nook
and crannies of the country and the world.” The Assistant General Overseer of
Manna Prayer Mountain and Managing Director of Our Daily Manna, Dr. Mrs. Flora
Kwakpovwe, described her husband Rev. (Dr) Chris Kwakpovwe as a dynamic man of
God with strong prophetic healing, preaching and teaching ministry of over 28
years. Pouring encomiums on Bishop Chris she said,”He has a very strong burden
to see a people raised by God to publicly depopulate hell, with a strong
private and solid fellowship with God.

The General Manager of ODM Pastor Felix
Jarikre described the General Overseer as an anointed writer, who has been
through the crucible of life’s strong battles and afflictions, Bishop Chris
writes from a deep burden and experience that provokes daily compassion for the
bruised. He has a unique mandate to,
write for the liberation of God’s people who are victims of life’s daily
battles, and torments.
